Guild Vs. Guild Update: Contestants, Format, and Rules

Here is the much awaited detail regarding the upcoming GVG war tomorrow. To all contestants, Good Luck!!

Last Week of Joyful July

Today we would have the final “Bring me” event of Joyful July. However instead of finding the GM and bringing that requested item, we would be posting the items (Hint: all items listed are 100pcs each) needed at the start of the event in our site, facebook, blog, and in-game. The event would last from 2pm to 4pm and the first one to bring one of the items listed wins a special prize.

The players are free to choose one type of item to bring. The GM would then be staying at one place, waiting for the lucky player to bring that item. The event would be a first come, first serve basis. So be sharp and fast.

Each winner would then be announced in-game. If an item was already given, other players may not submit that same item again.

WonderKing’s Joyful July – Bring Me Event

Even though, we had a rough day yesterday, we must not be just sitting around Esiore all day. That’s why your GM’s are here to cheer you up. This is one event no one should miss. We bring back our Find the GM, Bring the Item event.

Event dates: July 15, 2010, July 22, 2010 and August 5, 2010.

Event Time: 1:30pm, Every Thursday

Event Channel: Windus A-01

Event Duration: 10 Rounds: 10Mins per round. 3-5mins Rest period after each round.

Mechanics:
1.) [GM] is hiding all over Esiore.
2.) [GM] will give clues on their whereabouts.
3.) From that spot, [GM]’s are to make an announcement of what Item will be given to them.
4.) Then Players are to search for their [GM]’s.
5.) Once you found the [GM], the item should be traded to the [GM] on a first come, first serve basis.
6.) After the items are verified, [GM]’s shall announce who won the Bring Me Event.

The Winner shall be asked to come to a selected location for the awarding of the price.

Note: that the winners from previous rounds highly discouraged to further participate because we are opted to give chance to others.

The Prize for each round of the event is 1 piece of WonderStone

Criteria for Judging
60%- Costume
• 30%-Uniqueness of use: How easily your Character stand out among other contestants
• 30%-Mix and Match: create varying fashion styles with old and recent Item Mall costumes.
(GM Prizes are strictly prohibited)
40%- Total Visual Appeal
• 15%- Facial expression: Character facial expressions should match the costume the character is wearing
• 15%- Pose: strike a pose, the character should be cool with their poses in their costumes.
• 10%- Clarity: send your photos in high definition; the costumes and the poses would be worth nothing if it’s blurred or pixilated.

Editing is allowed to certain degree, these are the following:
1. Cropping
2. Inserting of WonderKing LOGO
NO BACKGROUND CHANGE, please choose a map were you want to take a screenshot of your character.
BACKGROUND CHANGE will receive a major demerit.
Entries which are edited beyond what is allowed will be automatically disqualified.

A Handful of Events this March!

Guild Site Contest

Now is the time to show off your guild’s pride! We are looking for guilds (and soon to be guilds) to create their own guild site / forums! Every member of your guild can be a part of it and you can all reap the rewards!
Rules:
1. You should have at least 10 members in your guild.
2. Your guild site’s design should be unique, original, and has a WKPH theme on it.
3. Your members should be active enough in your guild’s forums.
4. The guild site should be always updated and in synch with WK news and events.
5. The guild site should also have sufficient links directing to WonderKing’s site, blog, and our facebook page!

We shall judge the guild’s page depending on the following criteria:
Design – 70%
Links – 10%
Updates – 10%

We appreciate the effort that you will put into this event, so our winners shall have these prizes*:
1st prize: 1,000 e-cash for your guild (10 x 100 e-cash)
2,000,000 zed
20 wonderstones

2nd prize: 500 e-cash (10 x 50 e-cash)

Blog Event

Want to have it all? Then show off your personal pride in WonderKing! We are also looking for individuals to create a blog about WKPH! Show off your design skills and creative writing as we are looking for the best of the best!

Rules:
1. You blog should be unique, original, and has a WK feel in the design.
2. Your blog should also provide sufficient links to WKPH
3. We are also looking for the best content, so fill up your blog with widgets and articles! You could also add WKPH’s official blog in your blogroll!
4. The blog should also have an article, review, or any other content about WKPH (using your own words of course!)

We shall have the following criteria for judging your blog:
Design: 50%
Articles: 40%
Other content: 10%

Since this is an individual event, we shall raise the stakes!
1st prize: 1000 e-cash
2nd prize: 500 e-cash
3rd prize: 200 e-cash

With those prizes, you won’t need to top-up for a very long time!
As an additional bonus, all players who will join this event shall have 5 wonderstones as consolation prizes! Instant winnings just by joining this event!


Comic Strip Event Extended!

Due to unexpected technical reasons, the Comic Strip event was put on hold. Now, we shall re-launch the Comic Strip Event! The comic strip event is a screenshot event with an additional twist, in which, players must include a story (just like a page from a magazine) in their screenshots. We have 5 entries so far, and we are still craving for more! The comic event is extended for two weeks! And you have all the time you have to complete this task!

3 Winners shall have:

1 Dark Rimmed Glasses
20 Server Megaphones


Vinchy’s Request

Months have passed since the maintenance of the guardian stones all around Esiore was done. Vinchy, as one of the smartest citizens of Francis, took some time to research about the durability of the Guardian Stones. Terrible news arrived as Vinchy told [GM] that the Guardian Stones are already in a critical condition and must be repaired as soon as possible. Vinchy has handed the list of materials needed in fixing all guardian stones to the [GM]s in order to start the repair. Due to the number of materials needed, it may take time for the [GM]s to gather the needed items. It is now up to the players to help them gather these items to hasten up the process of fixing the stones or terrible things might happen in the world of Esiore.

The WK [GM]s shall give a notification of the start of Vinchy’s Request in-game. There will be 30 materials needed by the [GM]s and they shall require those materials within 2 hours. Players are free to choose just one type of item they want to bring to the [GM]s. They must bring the right number of materials chosen to the right [GM]. The event is on a first come, first serve basis. Once the item has already been submitted, other players may not submit the same item again.
This is all about luck and speed. So all you guys should be ready when the surprise event comes!

There are still some winners who haven’t logged in and made their first avatars yet, so we shall give you guys up until Friday to log-in to the game. We cannot send your prizes unless you have created your first characters. Prizes not claimed until Friday will get forfeited.

Event winners (Friendster, Slogan, CBT Rewards, Loyalty Awards, Show Your Gear) who have already created their first characters, we already sent your prizes. You may retrieve your prizes in your gift box. We are still waiting for others to create their first characters in-game!

Event Winners Confirmation

May we remind everyone that we already sent confirmation messages to all our event winners. Please check your Facebook or Friendster Accounts for messages from WKPH. We shall be giving 5 days for all winners to reply in our confirmation. Failure to do so shall result in automatic cancellation of prize, and prizes will not be carried over to other players.

Upon sending your reply, please provide your registered account username as this will serve as our reference in sending your prize.

Changes regarding Path to 5000

There will be changes in the Path to 5000 event. We have noticed your efforts to raise our number of fans and we appreciate it. So now, we’ll change the rule and raise the stakes.

New rule:
If our fan page reaches 1000 fans, the whole server shall get 300% experience for 2 hours.


Target date: February 5, 2010

This shall be the only target for this time. No more extensions, no consolations. We shall re-launch the path to 5000 at a later date.

Update: 01/07/2010

Funeral is already over and my granddad is already in heaven. Forever he’ll be in my memory.
Forgive me for my absence yesterday and last week. I have to give special attention to my grandfather during his funeral since I grew up with him living in our place, which makes me very fond of seeing him most of the time. Now that he’s gone, it’s hard to think of everyday knowing that someone close to your heart won’t be there when you want to see him. Oh well, work is the thing that matters now….

I was surprised to learn that the server went down yesterday (I did not have any idea since I was at the funeral). The management told me that it was truly unexpected, and we cannot do anything else about it. There were rollbacks to where the last best settings were made, and of course the experience modifier was reverted back to normal rate. Hays… why does the day have to begin this way? Anyway, we changed the rate back to 200% and the server seems to be running fine now. Stop with the bad news, now on with the more interesting ones.

We already passed an appeal to the dev team to create manual patches in the future. WonderKing used to have patches directly being downloaded from the launcher, so we are having a hard time to push this one out to the devs. Well, the management have seen the point of having a manual patch and the proposal is now in the hands of the devs. We might be getting feedback on this one in the next few days.

Questions are roaming regarding the Open Beta release of WKPH. To clarify on this: We are not yet giving out an exact date of Open Beta. The release would depend on the bugs and the fixes our game should have. We want the game to be fully polished first before we hit the release, this is for the sake of both the game and the players to have a great experience when OB comes.

Speaking of Open Beta, some players have been asking for some type of “reward” for being in the game and testing WKPH during this CBT period. This has been brought to my utmost attention, and puzzled by whether or not give out freebies after CBT. We had a lot of talks about this, so here’s the deal:

We shall give out CBT Tester rewards when we launch Open Beta. Our reward is not much, but expect it to be exclusive to CBT players only. Now, we do had a lot of CBT Keys given away, and most of them were not even used. So we have a condition in this reward: Only players who reached level 50 and above will get rewards. Unfair? It’s not unfair. Being unfair would be giving out these items to all players even though they just logged in and yet did not play. It would be too unfair to other players who spent their spare time playing and finding out bugs to help speed up our Open Beta. Okay, so that’s the condition. If you are already at level 50 or higher, you may send me an e-mail in this format:

Remember to place your character’s gender in Open Beta, since the reward is Gender-specific. Only level 50 and above players are needed to send this e-mail, and don’t bother asking, we know who is level 50 and who is not.
